Public libraries kick off
summer reading beginning June 1
Children participating in the
East Central Georgia Regional Li
brary System’s Summer Reading
Program are in for a treat as the
libraries welcome “Dudley D.
Dodo” in a fun-filled program, “Dig
Those Dinosaur Days,” which will
kick offthe program starting June
&
The program will be offered June
1 at the Appleby Branch Library
(10:30 a.m.) and at the Wallace
Branch Library (2:30p.m.). Dudley
will appear June 2 at the Fried
man Branch Library (10:30 a.m.)
and on June 3 at the Jeff Maxwell
Branch Library (10:30 a.m.)
The Midville Branch Library will
present the program June 5 (4:30
p.m.) and the Burke County Pub
lic Library will offer it on June 9
(10:30 a.m.)

tures a combination of comedy,
ventriloquism, magic, juggling,
balloon artistry and audience par
ticipation.
Plenty of activities to keep chil
dren revved up toread are planned
at the libraries as well. On June 2,
the Jeff Maxwell Branch Library
will present videos for children,
including Cinderella andThe Three
Little Pigsat 2:30 p.m. Other popu
lar videos will be shown at the
Maxwell Branch Library Tuesdays
at 2:30 throughout June and July.
The Appleby Branch Library will
hold “Fun and Games” June 3 at
10:30 a.m., and no storytimes will
be held this day.
The Warren County Public Li
brary will hold a “Let’s Make A
Dinosaur Contest” June 6 from 10
