3 3 Johnnie Gochran’s Court TV show to air on WASHINGTON, D.C. Black Entertainment Television (BET) an nounced that episodes of Johnnie Cochran To night, a talk show hosted by the famed attorney appearing nightly on Court TV, will air on BET on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. beginning March 7, 1999. The half-hour program will consist of a specific Johnnie Cochran Tonight episode that aired within the previous week on Court TV. Recently named one of the top 50 trial attorneys in the country, Johnnie Cochran interviews the biggest newsmakers in the highest profile legal cases of the day. Mr. Cochran’s deep legal experi ence and media savvy helps bring about perspec tives and insights that make his show unique to the television landscape. “We are extremely pleased to add Johnnie Cochran Tonight to BET’s programming line-up,” said Deborah Tang, BET’s vice president of News, Sports & Public Affairs. “Johnnie’s appeal to our audience is tremendous, and we are confident that the show will be a great success on our network.” “We are delighted to be working with BET in this innovative and win-win manner,” said Henry Schleiff, Court TV president and CEO. “Having Johnnie Cochran Tonight air on BET will not only enhance their Sunday programming schedule, but will also serve to promote Johnnie and his series which can be seen nightly on Court TV.” The Johnnie Cochran Tonight episode to air will feature provocative guests and topics that have specific appeal to BET’s audience, topics of con cern such as the hate crime case currently on going in Texas. The show will occupy the Sunday time slot on BET previously occupied by Real Business. Real Business will be put on hiatus until further review.
