The Youth ofthe Year program,
sponsored by Reader’s Digest As
sociation, Inc., recognizes a
member’s outstanding contribu
tions to family school, commu
nity, and Boys and Girls Club, as
well as personal challenges and
obstacles overcome. Ms. Lee will
compete for the title of Southeast
Youth of the Year in Atlanta on
June 24-25. The regional finalist
will advance to the national com
petition, wherethe winner will be
installed by the President at the
White House in September 1999.

Sigma Gamma Rho holds
bi-annual scholarship fundraiser
The Augusta chapter of Sigma
Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., is an
nouncing “Rhomania ‘99, the
sorority’s bi annual scholarship
fundraiser. It takes place June 19,
1999 at the Holiday Inn West.
This event features a luncheon, a
fashion show, and the crowing of
the Rhomania queens.
Nine young girls are competing
for the titles of Miss Rhomania
(13-18 years old), and Little Miss
Rhomania (6-12 years old). Each
contestantis challenged toraisea
certain amount of money for the
fundraiser. The contestant that
raises the most amount of money
in each category will be crowned
as the queen.
Proceeds from Rhomania ‘99 will
sponsor the chapter’s community
Junior League enables grants
The Junior League of Augusta
will be accepting applications for
its Community Enabling Fund
from CSRA non-profit agencies to
be granted in November of 1999.
The Junior League of Augusta,
