News 12 Honored with Gabby Award
Congratulations to News 12
(WDRW-TV, Augusta, GA) for
being honored with five pres
tigious Gabby Awards from the
Georgia Association of Broad
casters. News 12 was pre
sented a Gabby Award for the
“1999 Georgia Television Sta
tion of the Year,” “Best Public
Service Campaign,” “Best
Sportscast,” and News 12 An
chor, Laurie Ott won “Georgia
Television Personality of the
Year” (2 yearin arow). News
12 also received an Award of
Merit for “Best Newscast,
Story or Series.”
Commenting on the wins,
WRDW TV President and Gen
eral Manger, John Ray said:
“It was one of the most re
warding evenings of my life
and it comes as the direct re
sult of the hard work of the
news department, the produc
tion department, the promo
tions department, and every
