elected to the Promotion Ex
ecutives Caucusfor CBS. The
group is comprised of station
promotion executives who
meet regularly with execu
tives from CBS advertising
and promotion departments.
Each Caucus member rep
resents approximately 20des
ignated stations within CBS.
The caucus reps work closely
with CBS on long-range pro
motion strategies, and play a
key role in determining the
materials and services that
are provided by CBS Station
Promotion.
Mini Theatre kicks off 1999-2000
community fund-raising campaign
The Augusta Mini Theatre, Inc. will hold its
1999-2000 annual fund-raisingcampaignJune
15-August 16. Thegoal of this year’scampaign
is $65,000.
The campaign will consist of the solicitation
of donations from various individuals and or
ganizations and a Mr. & Miss Augusta Mini
Theatre campaign.
Funds raised will be used to fund the Au
gusta Mini Theatre’s Scholarship Fund, a 23-
year-old fund set up to assist students desiring
to enroll that have financial need. It also aids
in the Arts Across Augusta Program, a non
profit program that presents family oriented
plays dealing with the dangers of drug abuse,
importance of education, family communica
tion and building of self-esteem; dance, drama
and music workshops, lectures about the ben
efits of participation in the arts and distributes
free tickets to low income persons to attend

Ms. Jefferies is married to
Jay Jefferies, a former weather
anchor at News 12 and cur
rently a client system meteo
rologist with Accu Weather,
State College, Pa. Concerning
her election to the exclusive
board, Ms. Jefferies stated, “It’s
quite an honor to become part
of agroup that helps shape our
network. I look forward to con
tinue building the relationship
developed between the stations
and the most watched network
— CBS,” she said.
News 12 recently received
honors as the top TV station in
the Augusta market, accord
ing to Nielsen ratings.

The Augusta Mini Theatre, founded by Tyrone
J. Butler in 1975, offers classes and perfor
mancesin dramaand pianoat the Augusta Mini
Theatre, publichousing centers and after school
programs at Glenn Hills Middle and Murphy
Middle schools, through the Healthy Start Pro
gram and Summer Arts Camps through the
Augusta-Richmond County Recreation Depart
ment.
