Process Control Engineer works as an active member in
support of Manufacturing at the Monsanto Pharma plant. This
position will provide expertise to develop process control strate
gies, configure Process Controllers and maintain configuration so
that process areas operate smoothly and efficiently. This position
will support daily operations and projects related to Manufactur
ing, Solvent Recovery and Utilities.
Preparation, Training, Education and Experience:
B.S. in Chemical/Electrical Engineering required. Minimum of
one to three years experience, programming and configuring the
Distributed Control System {Provox and/ or D 3 (TI/GSE)). Pro
gramming experience of at least 1 year in the “C” language is
required. Experience with DEC C or C++ programming desirable.
Experience in supporting the Aspen/CIM2I production informa
tion management system is desired. Knowledge of regulatory
requirements for validating computer systems for FDA compli
ance is required. Candidate should have working knowledge of
VMS (6.2+) and/or NT. Physical demand requirements are those
associated beyond sedentary work. Inspections of equipment and
installations may be required. Must be able to climb stairs and
ladders if required. Must be able to wear required protective
equipment.

Qur facility is seeking qualified candidates
! for the following position.
Computer Systems Administrator works as an active mem
ber of the Process Automation Group in support of Manufacturing
and Quality Management Systems/Applications at the Monsanto
Pharma Plant. This person designs, develops, and maintains the
plant VAX/NT (Client/Server) systems. The Systems Administra
tor is responsible for supporting the hardware and operating
system necessary to operate system/applications to ensure reli
able performance.
Preparation, Training, Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
or equivalent. A minimum of five years experience with systems
management, analysis, design and programming exposure. Has
previously installed Operating Systems for Open VMS and NT
server based systems, Managed Open VMS Clusters and NT
Server environments. Installed and Managed Peripheral hard
ware and software in support of Disk Storage devices (including
shadowing), System Queues, and database management utilities
(e.g. Oracle/Rdb). Experience in creating/managing/analyzing
system security logs, user profiles and backup/recovery proce
dures/logs. Midrange and Microcomputer system hardware/soft
ware installation and support experience required. Experience
working in a GMP/FDA or similarly regulated environment.
Must be skilled in oral and written communication.

Our facility is seeking qualified candidates
for the following position.
Production Engineer is responsible for the overall technical
success of processing and mechanical operations in the plant.
Successful candidate will coordinate all the elements of Engineer
ing, Maintenance and Technical Services with Operations to
ensure the product is manufactured within the requirements of
FDA (NDA and GMP), EPA, OSHA and local regulatory guide
lines. Works with plant teams to implement Just-In Time manu
facturing concepts asit relates to material movementin inter and
intra plant environments. Applies statistical méthods and other
problem solving techniques to be used in a team environment to
estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Es
sential functions: Responsible for design, planning coordination of
configuration and cleaning required for process changeover and
documentation to direct, inspect, validate and record these
operations. Plan and initiate needed engineering modifications
and projects. Coordinate and direct engineering, maintenance
and production activities through start-up, training and close-out.
Provide on-call technical backup to team leaders to provide shift
coverage on special projects and detect and correct loss sources
before serious financial impact occurs.
Preparation, Training, Education and Experience:
BS degree in Chemical Engineering. Required experience 2-5
years chemical process improvement experience. Knowledge of
CGMPrequired. Must maintain good communication via written
and oral reports to management. Overall success in this position
will be determined by the level of trust and confidence developed
by the Production Engineer with Team Leaders. To be effective,
must deserve and be delegated maximum technical responsibility
by Team Leaders.
