National Black Chamber brings
largest trade mission ever to Brazil
National Black Chamber of Com

DC, has just completed a trade mis

in the history of Brazil. The NBCC brought
73 Black-owned businesses from through

joint venturing and contracting.

group of Black professionals comingto Rio
De Janeiro and aggressively pursuing
multi-million dollar contracts would not
have been conceived ten years ago We
have come a very long way.”
This trade mission has culminated the
vision of the Honorable Benedita DaSilva,
Vice Governor of the State of Rio De
Janeiro. She had become frustrated in
watching trade mission after trade mis
sion come to Brazil void of Black participa
tion. She approached the NBCC back in
April 1999, and this is the fruit born of that
relationship
“The Vice-Governor is the most impor
tant Black elected official in the world as
far as | am concerned,” says harry C
Alford, President/CEO of the NBCC, “We
are going to realize at least SBO million in
sales during year 2000 because of this
