Sr. Environmental Engineer-Searle Business Unit: Supports the
site in its quest for outstanding environmental performance from both
compliance and good neighbor view points. Obtains its objective by
environmental audits, compliance checks, record reviews, and training.
Provides technical support to the operations of equip. that have a
significant potential impact on environmental compliance. Qualifica
tions: B.S. in Chemical Eng. or related science required. Five+yrs. in
environmental field in chemical or related industry. Good communica
tion skills. Requires working knowledge of Clean Air Act, including Title
V permitting, RCRA and RCRA permitting, SARA and Clean Water Act
Pharma Chemical Operator-Searle Business Unit. Performs vari
ous duties according to established procedures in any of three major areas
of the bulk pharmaceutical chemical plants, which are: Control Room
operation and monitoring; Chemical reaction process, which includes
field operations handling such equipment as reactors, mix tanks, solvent
manifolds, receives and centrifuges according to established procedures;
First floor processing which includes operation of centrifuge discharge
chutes, fluidized bed dryer, grinders, screeners and drumming unit. All
work to be performed within safety, hskpg, and regulatory (GMP, EPA,
OSHA, etc.) guidelines, including complete documentation of work.
Qualifications: H.S. Diploma or GED equiv. Courses in math & Science
helpful. Min. of three yrs exp. in chemical production area pref FDA,
GMP exp. desirable.
LVE Technician-Searle Business Unit: Performs various skilled &
semi-skilled tasks in repair and maintenance of equip. Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or GED equiv. Knowledgeable in math & science. Min 3 yrs.
Exp. in production IVE tech environ. Two yr. Degree in related field from
accredited tech school preferred. Requires knowledge of applicable elec
trical codes. Knowledge of occupational hazard and safety precautions of
trades involved.
