Travel Course for Teachers,” Sum
mer 2000. Explore African-Ameri
can art in the summer of 2000 and
earn three staff development units.
Visit galleries in Atlanta and New
Yorkthathave pioneered the preser
vation of African-American history
and culture. In Atlanta, participants
willlearn in the galleries at the High
Museum of Art and Clark Atlanta
University. They will explore the
themes and ideas presented in “T'o
Conserve a Legacy: American Art
from Historically Black Collegesand
Universities” and “Narratives of Af
rican-American Art and Identity:the
David C. Driskell Collection.” Par
ticipants will then fly to New York to
study at the Studio Museum in
Harlem, the Metropolitan Museum
of Art and other important cultural
