Engineer. Operates the Satellite Operations Center to broad
cast programs on satellite channels to facilitate a quality
satellite signal transmitted to remote uplinks, in-house equip
ment, network stations, and listeners/viewers. Ensures trans
missions are in compliance with applicable rules and regula
tions for FCC. High school diploma or GED with additional
vocationalftechnical training in Electronics, Broadcast Engi
neering, Communications Technology, or related field re
quired; one yr exp. In electronics, electronic repair, satellite
and translator/transmitter technology, or a related field re
quired; Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license. Willing

INVITATION TO BID
Sealed proposals from General Contractors will be received by
the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia,
Owner, at Facilities Planning Conference Room HS-2318, MCG
Annex Building, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia,
until 2:00 p.m., Legally Prevailing Time on June 15, 2000, for the
construction of Project No. XT-00-23, “Replace Underground
High Temp. Water Piping to Admin and Library,” Medical
College of Georgia.
At the time and place noted above, the proposals for each project
will be publicly opened and read. No extension of the bidding
period will be made.
Bidding documents may be obtained at the office of the Chief
Architect, Facilities Planning—MCG Annex Building, HS-2305,
Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia. Applications for
documents should be filed promptly with the Chief Architect.
Bidders are cautioned that acquisition of bidding documents
through any source other than the office of the Chief Architect
is not advisable. Acquisition of bidding documents from unau
thorized sources places the bidder at risk of receivingincomplete
or inaccurate information upon which to base his proposal.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on June 8, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in
the Central Energy Building Conference Room (BH-204).
Contract, ifawarded, willbe on a lump sum basis. No bid may be
withdrawn for a period of 35 days after time has been called on
the date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond
made payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the
base bid. Both a performance bond and a payment bond will be
required each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to
waive technicalities and informalities.
