Paine College will celebrate the holiday season with the An
ual_ Winter Concert on Thursday, November 30, 2000, in the
iilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel at 7:30 p.m. The concert is

Under the direction of Dr. Sandra Scott, the Paine College
Jongert Choir will perform a variety of festive seasonal selec
ion§.: A galareception and treelighting ceremony will culminate
he ¢vening of song at the Peters Campus Center immediately

The National Mental Health Association of Georgia is proud
to present the annual Mental Health Holiday Tree Lighting
Ceremony, hosted by Gov. and Mrs. Barnes at the Governor’s
Mansion, on December 4. Gov. and Mrs. Barnes, the National
Mental Health Asso. of Georgia, mental health consumers and
advocates from around the state will come together on Decem
ber. 4 to celebrate the accomplishments of those who live with
mental illness and to bring awareness to the need for more
education and treatment of mental illnesses. The Mental
Health Holiday Tree will be on display to the public during the
holiday season tours of the Governor’s Mansion in December.
Bell-themed ornaments made by mental health service con
surers from around the state willadorn the tree. Thefirst place
wirner of the consumer ornament contest will receive round
tripairfare for two, courtesy of Gold-level Holiday Tree sponsor,
Delta Air Lines, to a national mental health conference in May
2000 in Washington, D.C.

precious natural resources,” says Cynthia Wainscott, executive
director of the National Mental Health Asso. of Ga. “Unfortu
nately, one in five of us will have a mental illness every year ...
but, the good news is that treatment works! The Mental Health
Holiday Tree reminds us all that good mental health is funda
mental good health.”
More than 576,000 Atlantans and their families are affected
by mental disorders every year — crossing all racial, economic
and social boundaries. Proceeds from this event will support
NMHAG'’s statewide education programs. For more informa
