Voorhees senior selected
as Black Caucus intern

Tyjuan Montgomery, a se
nior accounting major at
Voorhees College has been
selected as one of 15 South
Carolina students who will
intern with the South Caro
lina Legislative Black Cau
cus.
The internship program is
designed to provide an oppor
tunity for students from his
torically black colleges and
universities to gain first hand
knowledge of the legislative
process. During the six week
course the interns will learn
todescribe daily proceedings;
identify the committee struc
tureand functions ofthe House
and Senate; discuss how a bill
becomes a law; effectively use
legislative terminology and
select and track a bill.

Voorhees College Organiza
tional Management Pro
gram were inducted into the
Alpha Sigma Lambda Na
tional Honor Society, on
February 8.
The inductees were recog
nized forhavingachieved and
maintained a 3.2 grade point
averagein the 18 month de
gree completion program.
Dr. Collie Coleman, execu
tive vice-president and aca
demic dean was keynote
speakerat the ceremony. He
advised the inductees to
“think big.” '

error and shortcoming,” said
Dr. Coleman,”... at least fail
while daring greatly... Your
