B New Beginnings Ministries will host the Third Annual
Women Minister’s Retreat Fri. & Sat., Oct. sand 6, 2001 at the
beautiful and secluded IJN Conference and Retreat Center,

Ferry Rd. of Augusta. The Single’s Ministry will host the
Annual Single’s Conference entitled “Kevs to a Healthy Rela
tionship” on Fri., Oct. 5, trom 7 to 9 p.m., and on Oct. 6 from
9a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration will be S2O/person tand includes
registration, meals, workbook and conference T-Shirt. For

men only will be led by Rev. William B. Blount on Mon., Oct.
8, at 7 p.m. The program is titled “How a Man Can Lead a
Family.” The church will host a Community Outreach Day on
Sat., Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Underwood Homes
Recreation Center. The event will include non-perishable
goods, clothing, tapes and evangelism, refreshments, educa
tional information, health information and financial consult
ing. There will be much more and all for free. Rev. Blount is

B Elim Baptist Church, 2359 Mount Auburn St. of Augus
ta, will host a concert by John Beasley and the Interfaith
Community Singers of Baltimore, Md. on Fri., Oct. 5, at 7:30
p.m. The group of 30 singers has sung with the Winans, the
Mighty Clouds of Joy, Beße and CiCi Winans, and in the
largest cast and production ever to perform James Weldon
Johnson’s play “God’s Trombone.” The choir’s goal is to win
souls for Christ through song. The concert is free and open to

B Rehoboth Baptist Church, 6338 Ridge Rd. of Appling,
Ga. will hold its Annual Edward “Mack” Durham Scholarship
Walk-A-Thor. and Health and Safety Day on Sat., Oct. 6.
Registration for the walk begins 8 a.m. The public can also
donate blood at the church with the American Red Cross from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A great day of fellowship is planned. Jesse

B Harmony Baptist Church, 930 Hopkins St. of Augusta,
will host the 4" Annual Church and Community Round-Up on
Sat., Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shepeard Community Blood
Center will be on hand for all visitors wishing to give blood:;
religious entertainment; games; food and games will also be on
hand. There will be free hot dogs for neighborhood children;
tables set up for vendors; free clothes giveaway, and more. A
pastoral banquet will be held for Rev. Dr. Woodrew Miller Jr.
on Sat., Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. The 4" pastoral anniversary
celebration will be held on Oct. 14 at 2:30 p.m. Special guest
pastor and church will be Rev. James A. Hogan and the New
Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. For banquet tickets or

B Greater Love Ministries, 1519 Central Ave. of Augusta
will host a benefit program for Minister Kenny Turk and
Family on Sat., Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. at Straight Gate Apostolic
Church, located at 3201 Richmond Hill Rd. The Turk family
lost everything in a house fire on Sept. 23. All groups, choirs,
soloists, etc. are invited to help lift up the name of Jesus at the
