Cross Creek High School’s
drama department has
partnered with the family,
career and community lead
ers of America to offer a two
week long, high impact series
of events designed to equip
students with the attitudes,
skills and resources to make
schools and communities
safer.
The first major event will
be a play based on the Colum
bine tragedy. The perfor
mance, titled”’Bang, Bang!
You're Dead!” will be held on
Friday and Saturday, October
5-6,2001.
The play is based on the
events and incidents that led
some students at Columbine
to resort to violence. Drama
teacher Leah Soderberg has
alsoincorporated information
from the Sept. 11 terrorist
attacks in New York, Wash
ington, D.C. and Pennsylva
nia into the play.
On October 9, a Blue Ribbon
Panel Discussion will be held,
featuring members of the
media, the judicial system,
college professors, a school
-psychologist and other ex
perts.
Throughout the two-week
campaign, students and teach
ers alike will be encouraging
their classmates, their par
ents and other teachers to
sign a pledge card and a 6xlo
banner that says for all to see
that they are going to help
Stop the Violence.
For more information on
the events, please contact
Leah Soderberg, Betty
Holroyd or Joslyn Fields at
