sus Bureau data prepared for
the March of Dimes, 12 per
cent of children under age 19
in the United States — 9.2
million — are uninsured.
Sixty-two percent of these chil
dren live in families with in
comes at or below 200 percent
of the federal poverty level,
which should qualify them for
Peach Care for Medicaid cov
erage. Peach Care for Kids
began covering children in
1999, providing comprehensive
health care to children through
theage of 18 who do not qualify
for Medicaid and livein house
holds with incomes at or be
low 235 percent of the federal
poverty level.
