2002 PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCY PLAN
PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Housing Authority of the City of Augusta (AHA) has
developed its Draft 2002 Public Housing Agency Plan in
accordance with the Quality Housingand Work Respon
sibility Act of 1998 (QHWRA) and related U.S. Depart
ment of Housing and Urban Development subsequent
notices. The QHWRA requires each public housingagency
to submit an annual plan. The purpose of the annual
plan is to provide more details about AHA’s current
policies, operations, programs and services.
Interested parties can review and obtain a copy of the
Draft 2002 Public Housing Agency Plan by visiting
AHA’s web site at www.augustapha.org or upon re
quest. Copies can also be obtained by contacting the
office of Sirena Rogers, Director of Administration, J.
Madden Reid Building, 1425 Walton Way, Augusta,
Georgia between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday. In addition, two public hear
ings will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at 10:00
a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Peabody Apartments, Community
Room, 1425 Walton Way, Augusta, Georgia. The pur
pose of the hearings is to provide citizens with the
opportunity to comment on the 2002 Public Housing
Agency Plan before its submission to the U.S. Depart
ment of Housing and Urban Development. Written
commentssubmitted on or before Tuesday, December 4,
2001 will be considered.
Residents of public housing requiring transportation or
any interested persons requiring special assistance for
hearing, visual, or language impairment are requested
to contact Judy Silver, administrative assistant of Resi
dent Services, at 724-5466 ext. 55 no later than 3:00 p.m.

mayor and the city administrator of Augusta, Geor
gia as required by O.C.G.A. 36-80-20.
