New fitness center opens, not your typical gym
By Leticious Welcher
AUGUSTA FOCUS Staff Writer
Fine wine, cheese and an
assortment of tasty hors
d’oeuvres. Not your typical
menu for agym’s grand open
ing. Well, Demetrius Jones is
not your typical personal
trainer and Personal Fitness
& Wellness, Inc. is definitely
not your typical gym. As a
matter of fact, Personal Fit
ness & Wellness, Inc. isn’t a
gym at all. It’s a personal fit
ness studio and there is a big
difference — one that the
owner, Mr. Jones, doesn’t
mind pointing out.
“We are not a gym. We are
apersonal fitness studio. Here,
we pay attention to detail.
Our goal is not to sell mem
berships. Everything is spe
cialized to cater to individual
needs including the schedul
ing cf appointments. There is
never overcrowding or wait
ing forequipment,”said Jones.
Personal Fitness &
Wellness, Inc.’s grand open
ing celebration, last Saturday,
was an opportunity for the
community to meet Jones and
his assistant, Anne Carr, as
well as tour his facility and
pick upwellness information.
There was aiive remote broad
cast by Kiss 96.3, blood pres
sure screenings, games, give
aways and even palm read
ings — yes palm readings.
Jones was pleased with the
turnout but hopes that those
persons that came out got a
lot more than good food and
amusement.

thing I hope to get a chance to
see them again.”
