an unfamiliar place. The sound
of the gospel music is relaxing
and proprietor Felix Bussey
sharesacalmingthought. “God
has really been good to us by
giving us blessings, we owe it
all to him.”
Started by Felix’s parents,
Mr. And Mrs. William Bussey
in 1960, Bussey’s is the first
black owned auto glass com
pany in the CSRA. The elder
Bussey wasan employee of Riv
erside for tenyeais, beforestart
ing his own business.
William worked within the
company until 1990, and let
Felix take over the business.
“In high school, I knew that
I wanted totake thebusinessto
another level of achievement
and busines ; has been great.”
For a time period, Felix and his
father ran the company alone,

Regents select new chancellor
The Board of Regents, in a
special meeting today, named
Thomas C. Meredith as the
new chancellor of the Univer
sity System of Georgia. Dr.
Meredith is currently the
chancellor of the University
of Alabama System, in
Tuscaloosa. He has served in
his current role since 1997,
and previously was president
and professor of education at
Western Kentucky University
in Bowling Green.
His previous academic ex
perience was as vice chancel
lor for executive affairs at the
University of Mississippi,
1987-88, and adjunct profes
sor of higher education and
executive assistant to the
