Studio ArtGro hosts Palmer exhibhit
. Studio ArtGro, a Artists’ Row member
at 978 Broad Street, will present “Life,
Love and Energy,” a collection of mixed
media by Mr. Norman A. Palmer, from
November 6 through December 6,2001. A
reception for the artist will be held on
November 10 at 7 p.m.
! Mr. Norman, 28, is a contemporary
artist who specialistsin African-American
art. A native of Akron, Ohio, Norman
began utilizing his God-given talent in
drawing and painting at the age of three.
in his early creations he chose to work
withintricate and detailed techniques such
hs cross hatching (or hatching) and stip
ling using pen and ink, some of which
sed a combination of both. Cross hatch
ng involves using mediums that do not
leed, such as pen and ink, to create a
rawing using lines in patterns that indi
ate modeling, light and shade. His more
omplex works involve using a technique
own as stippling (or pointillism), which
s a pen and ink technique that creates
rawings using dots of ink.
Norman’s early work utilizes black and
hite as a simple form of contrast of light

losophy, spirituality and music.
