Restoration Ministries cel
ebrated the transition to their
new, 29-acre World Outreach,
Family Life,and Worship Cen
ters, located at 2404 Tobacco
Road, the weekend of January
25, 2002 with a 3-day Transi
tion/Founder’s Day Celebra
tion. The weekend kicked off
with a banquet on Friday,
January 25, at The Gordon
Club located on Fort Gordon,
where Pastor Richard Peoples
of Faith Outreach Christian
Life Center was the guest
speaker. The excitement con
tinued on Saturday, January
26, with a spectacular transi
tion parade from Jamestown
Elementary School, where for
the past 4 years the congrega
tion has held its’ services, to
the new, more than 17,000
square foot facility. After the
ribbon cutting ceremony, the
celebration service was held
with Reverend Jesse Mitchell
of Ebenezer Baptist Church,
Seale, Alabama, as the guest
speaker. The congregation’s
first worship service in the
new sanctuary was held on
Sunday, January 27, at 9:30

@ True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, 1780 Martin
Luther King Jr. Blvd. of Augusta, will celebrate its Church
Ministries’ Anniversary Fellowship and 82 Church Anniver
sary Services. The Anniversary Fellowship Services will be
held through Fri., Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. nightly. The Jan. 31 service
will feature the Ushers Ministry, as well as Dr. C. W. Joyner
of Broadway Baptist Church. For Feb. 1, the Youth Ministries
of True Vine will be highlighted, along with Rev. Stevie Berry
of New Exodus Baptist Church. The Church Anniversary
,iexvice will be held on Sun., Feb. 3, with Rev. Dr. Johnny

B The Greater Young Zion Baptist Church, 405 Sand
Bar Ferry Rd. of Augusta. Pastor Blount will teach Thursday
workshops at 12 and 7 p.m. The Jan. 31 workshop will focus
on “Developing a Friendship Marriage.” Part IV of the Men’s
Conference “How a Man Can Lead a Family” will be held on
Wed., Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. The final part, Part V, will be held on
Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. The church will also host God’s Word and
lunch at Wednesday Prayer & Study. Mid-day prayer will start
at 11:45 a.m., followed by mid-day Bible study at 12 noon, with
lunch served at 12:30 p.m. Night Bible Study & Prayer will be
offered at 6:45 and 7 p.m. William B. Blount Sr. is pastor.

In January 1997, Restora
tion Ministries International
(RMI) opened its doors as a
church in Augusta, Georgia

with only eight members. Since
itsinception, the ministry has
grown rapidly in membership
(over 900), in finances, assets,
and individual development.
Currently, their Outreach Min
istry broadcasts services on
Comcast Channel 66 at 8:30
p.m. on Monday and Thurs
day, and 9 a.m. on Sunday. It
also features a weekly broad
cast on WBEK UPN 16 (Cable
Channel 21) atll:3oa.m. The
ministry hosts 2 services
B The House of the Lord Church, 1351 10* St. of
Augusta, will host arevival Jan. 31 through Feb. lat 7:30 p.m.
nightly. Speaker will be Evangelist Andrew Brown of Fort
Pierce, Fla. For more info, call the House of the Lord Church
at 722-6023. Francine Pearce, senior minister, is the minister
in charge.
B Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 200
Macedonia Rd. of North Augusta, S.C., will hold a special
okservance for African-American Heritage Month on Fri. and
Sat., Feb. 1 and 2. The Theme of the program is “The Vision,
The Dream, The Truth.” The opening program on Feb. 1, 7 to
8:30 p.m., will feature old time spirituals, gospel songs and
performances to commemorate our heritage. Talented artists
willinclude the Dance Ministry from the Bethel A.M.E. Church
of Columbia, S.C. and poetic recitals from young performers.
Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hallimmediately
following the program. The main event will be held Feb. 2,
from 12 to 2 p.m. A special program will feature Rev. Samuel
“Billy” Kyles, pastor of the Monumental Baptist Church of
Memphis, Tenn. asthe keynote speaker. Ms. Mechelle Jordan,
news anchor of Channel 26, will serve as Mistress of Ceremo
nies. Morning worship services for Sun., Feb. 3, will be held at
