commission is trying to get a
message out to parents all
over. They say you need to get
rid of a few of your child’s toys
because they may be hazard
ous. Snuggle is recalling al
most four million of its bears
because the eyes can come off
and if swallowed can cause
your child to choke. The bears

You probably signed a lease
agreement stating what you
should pay and even the late
fees you’d pay. So, can this
change in the middle of the
lease?
Well we were able to help at
least 50 local tenants who had
that same question. Theycalled
me pset about a new policyjust
implemented at Cedarwoods
Apartments in Augusta.
It’salate fee policy that was
attachedtotheir doorsbackin
February.
It reads,”Rent is due on or
before the 5* of each month.
After the fifth, you must in
clude a SSO late fee. After the
10%* of the month, you must
include a SIOO late fee. After
the 15* you must include a
slso]atefeeand after the 18,
you’ll be evicted.”
This was effective at the be
ginning of February. Before
then, tenants were paying a
S6O flat fee.

Katrina Davis, manager of
Cedarwoods Apartments, says
she was just following orders
from her bosses based out of
California.
She says out of the 160 ten
ants she has, only about 50
actually payon timeand that’s
the reason the new policy was
implemented in thefirst place.
The problem is this new
agreement can only apply to
those not under a lease agree
ment.
That’s according to the law.
Davis did not know that.
She tells me more than 100
ofhertenantsarelivingmonth
to month and about 50 have a
lease. She now plans to writea
letter to those under a lease
agreement exempting them
from the new late fee policy.

(AP) Enron executives found

the Rev. Al Sharpton says.
