USC Aiken finishes 12 at tournament
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.
Following therainout of the
Wolverine South Invitational
(March 2-3) in Savannah, Ga.,
the third-ranked USC Aiken
golfteam entered the Seminole
Intercollegiate having last
played on February 11-12. Af
ter shaking off the rust, the
Pacers posted a strong finish
ing round of 299 to place 12t
out of the 15-team field at the
6,847 yard, par 72 Golden Eagle
Country Club.
Newcomer Scott Brown,
playinginjust his second tour
nament at USCA, led the Pac
ers with a 10-over-par 226,
good enough for a tie for 27,

gusta State Universitymen’s
~basketball (22-8) team lost
in the first round of the
NCAA Division II South At
lantic Region 73-70 to
Johnson C. Smith at Carson-
Newman College. It was the
final game for three seniors
whohavebeen staplesin the
ASU program the last four
years: Gary Boodnikoff, T.J.
Ott and Jayme Johnson.
Ironically, the three started
their first games their fresh
man year at Carson-
Newman’s Holt Fieldhouse
in 1998.

Graeme McDowell posted
three sub-par rounds to finish
with an impressive 10-under
game up with a three-pointer,
he wouldn’t score again until
seven minutesleft in the game
and finished with 10 points.
The Jaguars shot just 43.5
percent from the field in the
first half and trailed 41-27.
The Golden Bulls (23-7) hiton
15-of-26, including 6-of-10 from
