assistance with filing 2001 taxes. Free electronic filing avail
able. Dates for assistance are Saturdays through March, from
9a.m.tolp.m.eachday. Assistance will take place at 303 Hale
St. Call and make an appointment or drop in, but drop ins will

B Shepeard Community Blood Centerisin thebusiness
of saving lives. Help to make a difference by volunteering
assistance at blood drives. Volunteers may work two, three or
four hour shifts. Can you help greet the public, assist with
registration, be a Buddy Blood Drop Mascot or help with
serving food? Ifyou can, then please call Lanie Wilson at the
Center at 737-4551. There is a tremendous need for help
during drives at churches, temples and other locations. Con
sider volunteering at blood drives as part of youth leadership
projects.
@ The Greater Young Zion Baptist Church, 405 Sand
Bar Ferry Rd. of Augusta. The church will hold its Annual
Spring Revival on Mar. 21, 7 p.m. Guest evangelist will be Rev.
Ronald Toney, pastor of Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church of
Macon, Ga. Street Witnessing during the revival will begin at
4:30 p.m. The GYZ Drama Ministry will hold a Resurrection
Celebration on Mar. 29 at 7 p.m. The church will host a visit
by Rev. Kenrick S. Sharpe, renowned missionary of the Mis
sion Revival Christian Ministries of Ontario, Canada, on Sun.,
Mar. 31, at 7:30 a.m. The church will also host God’s Word and
lunch at Wednesday Prayer & Study. Mid-day prayer will start
at 11:45 a.m., followed by mid-day Bible study at 12 noon, with
lunch served at 12:30 p.m. Night Bible Study & Prayer will be

B “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Theodore
Dubois will be presented by the Columbia County Choral
Society on Fri., Mar. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Abilene Baptist Church
at the intersections of Washington and Columbia Roads in
Martinez. Soloists will be Isaac Washington Holmes, baritone;
Amy Brandenburg, soprano; W. Bark Black, tenor; Steve
Patteson, conductor; and Ruth Brannen, organist. Tickets

hosted by Sctonda V. Kelly, will celebrate its fourth anniver

Church, both in North Augusta, S.C., will come together in
the middle of the street between their churches in a moving
and dramaticdemonstration of unity and cooperation on Palm
Sun., Mar. 24. Members will be asked to stand inside the lines
of a gigantic drawing of the body of Jesus which will be
stretched along Georgia Avenue between Spring Grove and
Jackson Avenues. Participation by 2,500 members is hoped
for.

Augusta, will hold a Shepeard Community Blood Center blood
drive on Sun., Mar. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please bring
donor card or ID. The YMIA (Young Macedonians in Action)
of the church is sponsoring a Victory Praise Celebration on
