That's all it takes to reduce your chance of permanent disability
from stroke. Stroke is treatable if properly diagnosed within 60
minutes of the onset of symptoms. That's why it’s important
for everyone to know and recognize the signs of stroke and to
act quickly if a stroke is occurring.
The five most common stroke symptoms are:
Sudden numbness or weakness in face, arm, leg or one
side of the body
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness or loss of balance
Sudden severe headache
MCG - The area’s only 24-hour
comprehensive Stroke Team
Stroke is a medical emergency. That’s why our Stroke Team is
available 24 hours a day for accurate diagnosis and prompt
treatment, which greatly reduces your chance of having
permanent disability. MCG’s Neuroscience Center is a nationally
recognized leader in quality stroke care and serves as a model
for stroke centers nationwide. If you suspect someone is having
a stroke, get him or her to a hospital as soon as possible.
