We will also assist workers who need additional skills to find appropriate training.” Labor department staff are scheduled to meet with the laid-off workers tomorrow to explain the wide variety of services available from the department designed to help them find new jobs as quickly as possible. Beginning Monday, the labor department staff will help the workers file claims for unemploy ment insurance.
