Ed Mcintyre Amateur Golf Classic
sees heated competition
After the first day of play
in the open division of the
Third Annual Ed Mclntyre
Golf Classic, Chip Whitak
er led the field shooting a
68. He was closely followed
by James Dent Jr. with a 69,
Jariah Beard with a 72, and,
Willie Hawes with a 73.
Mike Tanksley led all sen
iors with a 72, Wilmer
McWilliams led the ladies
with a 97, and Gary Bussey
led the juniors with a 76.
On the second and final
day of play Willie Hawes
went on a birdie barrage
shooting a 69, and tied
Chip Whitaker at 142.
Hawes birdied hole number
two on the front nine and
five holes in a row - Holes
numbers 11, 12, 13, 14,

new scholarship endow
ments to benefit students
pursuing their educa
tions in Allied Health
occupations.
The Medical Assisting
Scholarship Endowment
was recently endowed
with a SIO,OOO gift from
Dr. Paul Fischer and the
Center for Primary Care.
The endowment will
provide for an annual
scholarship award in the
amount of SSOO to a stu
dent pursuing an educa
tion in the field of Med

Scholarship Endowment
for Dental Assisting was
also fully funded in 2004
by dentists and dental
professionals, family,
friends and co-workers.
The endowment, named
after the retired program
chair of Dental Assisting,
will also provide for an
