Andrew Newton named MCG
Vice President for Legal Affairs
Andrew R.H. Newton,
senior legal advisor at the
Medical College of Georgia,
has been named vice presi
dent for legal affairs.
Mr. Newton, who came
to MCG in 1995 as assis
tant legal advisor, has served
as interim vice president
since July 2004.
“Andrew’s counsel has
been invaluable to me and
to this institution,” said
MCG President Daniel W.
Rahn in announcing the
selection. “He is a princi
pled, forthright individual

Delta Sipma Theta,
Sorority Inc. is an inter
national non-profit
organization of college
education women dedi
cated to public service.
This talent showcase
will provide an arena in
which area High; Middle
and Elementary School
students may showcase
their rtalents through
dance, voice, instru
ments, drama, and ora
tion. All area students
are invited to apply.
Applications will be
available in local schools
or at the address shown
above. The deadline for
turning in application in
January 24.
On January 29, stu
dent will have an oppor
tunity to present their
2005 calendar dolls

undergraduate and law
degrees from the University
of South Carolina. Previ
ous appointments include
five years in the U.S. Navy,
including serving as a lieu
tenant at the Naval Air Sta
tion in Brunswick, Maine,
and as command judge
advocate for Naval Hospi
tal, a 300-bed teaching hos
pital in Bremerton, Wash.
At MCG, he was promoted
to associate legal advisor in
1997 and to senior legal
advisor in 2002.

The fashion show
begins at 2:30 p.m. on
Sunday, January 23, and
is expected to run until

Charlene, as she helped
daughter Brittany pre
pare for the modeling
and pageant career.
The Bagwells have
been longtime supports
of the Ronald McDonald
House. Charlene was
first involved through
the Junior Women’s club
of Augusta. Brittany
Bagwell was a regular
volunteer at the House
during her high school
years, and though her
schedule precludes her
from spending a lot of
time on site, the family
continues to look for
meaningful ways to con
tribute.
