What to do when our faith wavers
By MARY SULLIVAN
SE' ecial to Augusta Focus
Our faith is the heart of
our Christian life. By faith,
we are saved, receive for
giveness for our sins, and
enjoy a personal relation
ship with the Lord (Eph
estans 2:8-9). By faith, we
are able to experience the
peace of God and the power
of the Holy Spirit in our
lives. Through faith, our
prayers ascend up o God
and are answered. God
gives cach of us a measure
of faith. (Romans 12:3).
Without taith, it is impossi
ble to please God. (Hebrews

11:6).
Since faith is the heart of
our Christian life, the con
sequences of wavering faith
is far-reaching. Our lives
and especially our prayers
are often characterized by
doubts and wavering faith.
\V.wering faith can i‘ad to
our making poor choices in
lite which are often costly.
Wavering faith will also
attect our confidence in
God and in our abilities to
do what God has com
manded us to do. A person
that wavers in faith will not
receive anything from God.
(fames 1: 6-8). %C’c must be
aware of Satan’s ractics to
cause us to doubt God, so
that we can stand firm in
our faith. Following are
ways that we may allow our
faith to waver and not know
it
Our faith wavers when:
1. When we apply human
thinking to our circum
stances. Sometimes God
will require us to do some
thing with which human
reasoning disagrees (lsaiah
55:9).
2. We fail to see God at
work in our circumstances.
Doubts have a tendency to
creep in when we ask God

Satan is the father of lies
