Sealed proposals from Contractors will be received for the Old Vocational
Building — Asbestos Abatement, Augusta, Georgia Project No.: ACES 118-146
by the County Board of Education of Richmond County at the address below
until 3:00 p.m. local time, April 26, 2005 at which time the bids will be publicly
opened and read. No extension of the bidding period will be made.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on April 12, 2005 at 10:00 am local time at
the office of Alternative Construction & Environmental Solutions, Inc., 1450
Greene Street — Suite 510, Augusta, Georgia. After a meeting at this location, a
visit will be made to the project site at the Old Vocational Building — at 2025
Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
Drawings, specifications, and bidding documents may be obtained at the
Office of the Consultant, Alternative Construction & Environmental Solutions,
Inc. (ACES), 1450 Greene Street, Suite 510, Augusta, Georgia 30901. Applica
tions for documents together with non-refundable deposit of $25.00 per set
should be filed promptly with the Consultant. Bidding material will be for
warded (shipping charges collect) as soon as possible.
Any bid submitted will be subject to the conditions and timeline specified in
the documents. The bid, if awarded will be on a lump sum basis. No bid may
be withdrawn for a period of 35 days after time has been called on the date o
opening,.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technical
ities and informalities.
To promote local participation, a database of Sub-contractors, Suppliers, and
Vendors has been developed by the Program Manager, Hanscomb/GMK. Con
tact Jeanine Usry with Hanscomb/GMK at (706) 560-3950 for location to
review and obtain this database.

ble. The full amount of deposit for one set will be refunded to each prime contractor who
submits a bona fide bid upon retum of such set in good condition within 10 days after date
of opening bids. All other deposits will be refunded with deductions approximating cost
reproduction of documents upon return of same in good condition within 10 days after date

Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period

Bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than 5 percent of the base
bid. Personal checks, certified checks, letters of credit, etc., are not acceptable. The success
ful bidder wll be required to fumish performance and payment bonds in an amount equal
to 100 percent of the contract price.
The Owner reserves the night to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and infor
malities.
BID LIST: The Richmond County Board of Education maintains a bid list for many cate
gonies that are let for bid each year. If your company wishes to remain on our bid list, we
must recetve a response either through a bid or by ano bid response. If we do not receive a
response, your company’s name will be removed from our bid list. Please call the bid office
at 706-826-1298 if you fail to receive a post card.

AUGUSTA REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION STUDY
FY 2006-10 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
The public is invited to review and comment on the South Carolina portion of the draft FY 2006 - 2010
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Augusta Regional Transportation Study (ARTS). The
ARTS area includes the urbanized portions of Richmond and Columbia County, GA and Aiken and
Edgefield County, SC The TIP includes all road. bndge, transit, road related drainage and enhancement
projects which receive 80 or more funding from federal andor state sources.
The draft TIP is available for review and comment from March 10, 2005 - April 12, 2005 during the hours
