Edney has been named
Editor-in-Chief of the
National Newspaper

Edney, a 20-year
reporter for the Black
Press who has served as
NNPA’s Washington Cor
respondent for the past
seven years, was tapped
to lead its news service
during the organization’s
annual summer confer
ence in Seattle last week.

certified student driver. It is at
this moment that we begin to
watch and become familiar
with the sounds and operations
of a vehide. At the tcngtCr age of
15, we are allowed to get a
learners permit. This permit
allows you to drive as long as
you have a legal driver in the
car. This permit also appears to
test your ability to memorize
the laws of the road. It is one
year later that we are allowed to
get a drivers license. The driv
ers’ license allows you to drive
with no restrictions. To have
this privilege you are tested on
your ability to mancuver the
vehide am?, ly the informa
tion that yo?xpreamed with the
permit. | insist that sometimes
our authorization to love goes
through a similar process.
I contend that the moment
we are brought into this world
we become students to the
teachers of love. These teachers
are the individuals that are in
your day-to-day lives. It can ll))_c

there is such a thu%) they give
us the foundation for love.
The permit comes when we
decide to show others what we
have learned about love. You
may begin o realize that the
way you show and receive love
may need some re-evaluating,

want to throw away. You

This scripture teaches us what

feel like. Throughout the bible,
God teaches us how to love.
God teaches us that the greatest
gift is Love. He shows us how
to express i, feels it, and recip
rocate it. Love can be great
when it is done whole-hearted-
