The infectious jubilance of Library
Assistant Gloria Allen at the Wallace
Branch Library makes you want to read
whatever she recommends. This lovely
woman is keenly aware of the latest
works of fiction to hit the shelves of the
collections and will open your eyes to
authors one wouldn't even consider.
However, after reading the suggested
books, the reader will eagerly develop an
affinity for the writers' works. If Mrs.
Allen proposes it, you must read it!
Herewith are two titles she recommends
with her synopsis:

what did you want to do
when you grew up’?
DWB- Growing up poor in
North Carolina, writing was
a way to escape the world 1

things I've ever wanted to do
in life were in some way con

a child, it was the one gift
that shaped my aspirations,
and ultimately led me to
