BEFORE PUTTING YOUR
LIGHT SUITS AWAY - ■ ■
Very soon, no doubt, you wifi be storing away your
lighter summer and autumn clothing, but before you
do, send it to us.
A garment hung up with the dust, perspiration, and
grit of summer still clinging to it has tendency to
deteriorate — actual weakening of the fabric is
brought about by these impurities.
Have your clothes dry cleaned and pressed before
storing. It will add to their life, and they will be
ready to wear when you want them.

AS WIFE 1ES
10 STOP BATHE
Winder, Nov. 13.—J. S. Bow
man, 47, of Statham, near here,
was fatally shot in a gun battle
.ate yesterday while his wife tried
to aet as peace maker, it was re
ported here this morning.
Bowman died last night in an
Athens hospital, and Guy Thur
mond, who is said to have wound
ed him, is free tonight, follow
ing an investgation.
Thurmond claimed self defense.
Bowman is reported to have
been drinking when he reached
the Thurmond stables. He whip
ped out a gun and fired at Thur
mond five times, according to ver
sions of the shooting.
As Bowman began reloading,
Thurmond < fired three times, in
flicting mortal wounds. Bow
man’s wife was trying to quiet
him during the duel, witnesses
said.
Thurmond came here today and
gave himself up.
He was freed after a prelimi
nary investigation.
get information which might lead
to her identity or give a clue as
to the reason for her refusal to
eat.
Further efforts of Dr. 0. B. Gil
liam, who attempted to get her to
talk while the drug was taking
effect, proved virtually unavailing.
In reference to the “they” in
her exclamation concerning poison-
1 ing, she would only say that
“they” referred to “the boys. »»
Dr. Gilliam told newspapermen
that the woman started to pray in
fear of poisoning when the anes
thetic was* going into effect, which
he said accounted for the Bible in
her hands when she was found.
She is still being fed forcibly
through her nose so that she may
not taste food. The taste,
ing to Dr, Gilliam, almost sends
her into convulsions.
In diagnosing the case, Dr. Gil-
liam pronounced her condition as a
cross between hysteria and cata
lepsia, which causes loss of mem
ory and wandering of mental
faculties.
