riding along the public highways
one can eaaily see where truck
sters and farmers are suffering
from a lack of rain, as it is im
possible for them to get seeds of
any kind through the ground.
However, it is pointed out that
there is a strong likelihood of
rain following the present cool
weather, and if it should, it will
still be in time to do a vast
amount of good among the farm
ers and truck growers.
The drouth is doing much to re
tard oat sowing as the ground is
so hard and dry in many places
that farmers cannot turn their
oats under and they state that
even if they should turn them un
der, it is so dry they would not
germinate.
