WALKER AND MRS. J. H. WALKER

the week was the bridge tea
which Mrs. J. H. Walker, Jr., and
Hu. Amelia Walker entertained
Tuesday afternoon at Mrs.

Henry Burks, of LsGrange.

charming Mary Powers, of New
f nan, she was a frequent and ad
mired visitor. Her visit to Mrs.
Walker will be marked by a round
of informal parties.

The living-room was beautiful

in the dining-room was a vase
of yellow chrysanthemums. A

Mrs. Walker’s gown was of

Persian embroidery and was worn
with a small black hat.
Mrs. Sullins was wearing mid
night blue charmeen trimmed with
fur. Her hat was of black velvet,
Mrs. Wilson was gowned in black
satin trimmed with lace and was
wearing a small red and gold hat.
Mrs. Parks Walker made high
score in the bridge game, winning
a deck of Congress cards. Mrs.
! Burks was presented a set of
novelty score pads.
A delicious salad course with !
hot roll’s and tea was served at
the email tables after the games j
had been enjoyed.

A lovely and enjoyable event
of Tuesday was the evening bridge
party at which T.rr. and Mrs. C.
A. Buise entertained at 8 o’clock
at their home on West. Solbmon
street, the delightful occasion as
sembled six tables of players.
The bridge tables were arranged
in th attractive living-room that
stretches across the front of the
house and in the dining-rodm.
Throughout these two rooms vases
and baskets of beautiful yellow,
bronze, and white chrysanthemum
and quantities of bright colored
autumn leaves formed the effec
tive decorations. Autumn leaves
