KILLED WHEN

PLAINSBORO, N. J., Nov. IB.—
(AP)— Thirteen persons were kill
ed early today when a St. Louis
express train on the Pennsylvania
railroad bound for New York,
telescoped another train from
Washington, also bound for New
York.
The accident occurred during a
heavy fog.
Eleven bodies have been recov
ered from the wreckage of two
rear cars of the’Washington train.
Two more bodies are still in the
wreckage.
The bodies of the dead were
sent by train to New Brunswick
and Trenton.

according to their seniority.

Heavy Loss of Life in Mines
Pittsburg, Nov. 11, (AP,—
Heavy loss ot life in the coal
mines has caused the state de
partment of mines to put into ser
vice 10 automobile rescue trucks.
In September, 52 miners iost their
lives in the underground workings
of the state. Twenty-seven were
caught under falls, .11 met death
in mine car and mine motor ac
cidenst; 10 were electrocuted or
killed by explosives; two were -
killed by mining machines and i
two were listed as miscellaneous.
