Private Facilities
As for private facilities, we
have a number of motion pic
ture theaters, for both white
and colored We have up to date
bowling alleys. ix>ol and billiards
rooms, ice cream parlors, seda
founts', and “Juke Joints,” to
say, nothing of our beer saloons.
In addition we have one or
more private clubs equipped for
recreation and entertainment.
Now, Mr. Editor, having made
this tour with me 1 think you
will agree that we are not be
hind any City near the size of
Griffin in a "lack of recrea
tional facilities. However, the
City authorities are always anxi
ous to provide what our people
want, and if you will kindly
specify what you did not find
that we should have, I assure
you the matter will receive the
careful attention of your City
Commissioners.
May I anticipate your replv
as to one need? I do think
we need an additional park and
swimming pool in the North or
Northwest section of the City.
This has been under considera
tion for sometime, and I be
lieve would have been provided
before this time but for restric

Government as a war measure.
But what else did you fail to

Yours very truly.
