Miss Lueta Eubanks Becomes Bride Of
Mr. Seaton Grantland Bailey At Beautiful
Candlelight Ceremony Monday Afternoon
Miss Lueta Whitaker Eubanks,
daughter of Rev. and Mrs. E. P,
Eubanks of Newnan, became the
bride of Mr. Seaton Grantland Bai
ley, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
David Jackson Bailey of Griffin, at
a beautiful candlelight ceremony, at
the First Methodist Church Monday
afternoon, February II, at 5:00 o'
The bride's father, the Rev.
E. P. Eubanks, assisted by the Rev.
L. W. Blackwelder, performed the
ceremony.
Burning white tapers In branch

candlelight over the altar decora
tions. The choir rail and chancel
were draped in white and trailed in
smilax; and a raised cen
ter arrangement of white gladioli and
fern, flanked by floor baskets of
white g&dioli, was silhouetted a
galnst a background of palms and
magnolia leaves. Windows, bank
with greenery, held white ean
and family pews were marked

The bride entered with her bro
ther, Era P. Eubanks of Newnan,
by whom she was given in marriage,
and they were met at the altar oy
the groom and Nathaniel H. Bailey
of Griffin who Served as his broth
er's best man.
The bride wore an exquisite gown
of white lace featuring an off-thc
shoulder ruffle of wide lace, long
sleeves, and a full skirt ending in a
train. Her veil of Illusion tulle,
caught to her hair with a coronet
of ruching and orange blossoms, fell
in graceful folds over the train of
her dress. She carried a white pray
er bock topped with white orchids
showered with white sweetpeas.
The bride’s mother was attired in
an afternoon dress of moonstone olue
crepe worn with & corsage of pink
rosebuds. Her hat was a black straw
trimmed with veiling and pink roses,

Entertain With Valentine Dance Friday
Miss Ernestine
monton entertained with a festive
valentine dance Friday evening at
the Catholic Rectory. Ernestine and
Ray greeted guests at the door. Er
nestine’s evening frock was of red
taffeta fashioned with a full skirt
atfd trimmed with a ruffle at the
neckline, and her corsage was of
white gladioli and carnations.
The Rectory was beautifully dec
orated in a red and white valentine
motif with nandina berries, red
and white statice, white rosebuds,
and greenery. The cining lao.e was
covered with a white linen cloth and
decorated with cupic valentine cut
outs. Silver candelabra holding burn
ing red tapers stood on either side
of a punch bowl surrounded by red
berries and foliage.
During the evening dancing was
enjoyed, including a series of novelty
dances and games, and later in the
evening delightful refreshments were
served.
Chaperons were: Mrs. Jessie Mlt
cham, Mrs. Oscar Simonton, Mrs.
L. R. Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Willis, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Simon
ton. Father John Walsh, and Father
McCormick.
Guests were all pupils of the six
grade at Third Ward School.

tained with a buffet dinner in the
p&r.ors of the first Methodist Church
The forty-five guests included mem
bers of the''Wedding party and rel
atives of the couple.
The table was covered with a ma
deira cloth and centered with a
miniature wedding scene, a tiny
repUca of the chancel and altar
of the First Methodist Church. The
little altar was trailed In greenery
and banked with small white flow
ers. Arrangements of snow chrysan
themums Interspersed with tiny
candelabra holding smaller white
candles completed the decorations
ar.d a miniature bridal couple stood
before the altar. Clusters of white
hyacinths, chrysanthemums, pink
gladioli, and candelabra holding
white tapers were also featured dec-
orations.
Mis. Willis B. Warnell, attired In
a velvet and crepe chartreuse en
semble, presided at the beautifully
appointed coffee table.
Mrs. Mabbett wore a fuchsia crepe
dress and Mrs. Brown, an aqua and
beige suit. Miss Eubanks was dress
ed tn a floral print featuring a ruf
fl" at the neckline, and Mrs. How
ard Levis, who assisted the hos
tesses in entertaining, was attired
in a kelly green suit.

Haisten, and Miss Ethel Smith,
