were marri ed on Sunday afternoon

June 15, at 2 o’clock at the First
Methodist Church in Ann Arbor.
Miss Marian Buchanan, the j
bride’s only sister, was maid of I
bbnor, and Dick Brantley served
best man.
Mr. and Mrs. Yates have returned
from thelr wedding trfp to North
Michigan and are at home at 903
West Huron street, Ann Arobor.

The School-age Sunbeams of the
I irst Baptist Church met Monday

After a brief business session a

load,” says a teacher at a university ,
where ex-GI’s, their wives and ;
children are crowded together in
trailer towns ancj Quonset hut com- ;

The teacher points out that in or
der to supplement the $90-a-month
allowance the GI gets from the i
government, manv of the young |
wives are working at several jobs.
“SPARE” TIME WORK
To illustrate her story she told

and faculty in her “spare” time,
The young wife looked as carefree
as any college girl, her Quonset hut
neat and home-like. She was look
ing after her own baby and the
01 someone who was paying
^ er a baby-sitter. But sure, die
said, she could do the typing—after
both children were asleep.
'We have forgotten ” says the
teacher, “that the girls who are
helping their husbands get an edu
cation are still war wives and are
doing just as good a job of sticking
by their husbands now as they did
during the war.”
