Sunday afternoon the two big
veterans organizations—The A
merican Legion and the Vet
erans of f oreign Wars—will de
dicate their new clubhouse on
West Poplar Street. Depart
ment (Georgia) Commanders of
both organizations as well as
other state and district officers
have been Invited to attend and
have a part in this dedication.
Long have the veterans
dreamed of their own clubhouse,
where meetings could be con
ducted and where social gather
ings could be held. Veterans of
World War One talked "club
browe” a iot- but never got any
where further than “talk."
Then here came'the younger
veterans, home from the war,
and they got busy. Before any
one knew It they had the money
on hand and when The Elks
moved over to the old Rainbow
Club on the Williamson Road,
the veterans bought the old Elks
Club, remodelled and redecora
ted It and there you are—as fine,
a veterans clubhouse as one Will
find In Georgia.
The public has been Invited
to attend the dedication of the
clubhouse Sunday afternoon
and to Inspect the veterans
quarters.
