Sam Bailey P-TA Meets Tuesday Night;
Discusses Plans For Association
The Sam Bailey P.-T. A. met
Tuesady night at the school at
which time plans to raise funds for
t/ie Association’s principal projects,
a first aid room and teachers’
lounge, were discussed and Mrs.
Dcricr Wynne was appointed fin
ance chairman.
Articles such as sheets, pillow and
pillowcases and blankets were given
'or use in the first aid room. Mem
ters also volunteered to paint the
-uoeua themselves and donated the
necessary materials.
Mrs. George Strain, president,
presided. For the Inspirational Mrs.
Strain read an article, "Caution of
Child Neglect,” by Pierce Harris.
Mrs. Louise B. Allen, membership
: hairman, reported 38 registered
members, and announcement was
made of the Association’s member
ship drive which is now in progress.
The group voted to take a grade
f ount at each meeting and award
a prize to the class having the lar
gest percentage of parents present
and also to present a prize to the
trade obtaining the most members
in the membership drive. Both pri
zes were donated by members.
At the conclusion of the business
meeting Mrs. Ira Slade spoke to the
group on Armistice Day.

meeting reecntly with the Greer
Circle in charge of the program.
Mrs. Lizzie Lewis led the opening
prayer, and Mrs. J. E. Hand gave
the devotional The program topic,
'Dark Africa.” was discussed by
Mrs. Rosa Bell Newton, guest speak
er.

sided, during the business session.
