Dies Today
Mrs. Inez Malone Ison, 70, wi
dow of Mr. Grover Cleveland
Ison, died this morning at
Brightmoor Nursing Home.
She was born in Fayette Coun
ty and was a member of the Dig
by Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Mary Whitlock of Brooks;
a son, Russell Ison of Brooks;
two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Evans,
Mrs. Joy Ison, both of Brooks; a
orother, Roy Malone of William
son; four grandchildren and sev
eral nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be
announced by McDonald Chapel.

To Sponsor Antiques
AMERICUS Ga.—The Amerl
cus Junior Welfare League will
sponsor the third annual Ameri
cas Antique Show on May 10-11
at the Sumter County Fairground
recreation building.
Hours for the first day of the
show will extend from 10 a.m.
to 9 p.m. and on 'the second
day, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Antique dealers from through
out the area will participate by
exhibiting unusual antique pie
ces.
Proceeds from the show will
be used to finance league pro
jects in the community. Tickets
may be purchased at the door.

Murphy To Attend
Vet Officers School
Pat Murphy, field manager of
the Griffin Office of the Georgia
Department of Veterans Service,
will attend the Annual Service
Officers School, in Atlanta, Ap
ril 27-29.

fin Office. Murphy invited any
one interested to attend the sc
hool at the Georgian Terrace

Mrs. Rusk was born in Upson
County and had made her
home In Lamar County since
November, 1965. Mrs. Rusk was
killed Tuesday In an auto collis
ion 1.2 miles north of Milner.
Survivors include her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Prevatt of
Thomaston; her husband, Tho
mas Jefferson Rusk of Barnes
ville; a daughter, Connie Marie
Bishop of Bamesville; a sister,
Mrs. Marie Johnson of Thomas
ton; and a nephew, Anthony
Johnson of Thomaston.

fin Rotary Club on Thursday at

ROADS REPORT
WASHINGTON (UPI) —The
41,000-mile interstate highway
system, begun in 1956, is about
half completed with 21,377
miles of the dual-lane, limited
access roads open to traffic as
of March 31.
Commerce Undersecretary
Alan S. Boyd told a House
public works subcommittee
Tuesday that construction, en
gineering studies, or right-of
way acquisition was taking
place or another 17,068 miles of
road.

Modifications to the air condi
tioning system in the surgical
suite at the Griffin-Spalding Co
unty Hospital are planned.
Sealed bids on the modifica
tions will be opened at the hos
pital on May 10 at 5 p.m.
The Griffin-Spalding County
Hospital Authority called for the
bids in a legal advertisement
in the Griffin Daily News today.
Plans and specifications for
the modicatlons are available
to bidders from Jack Moore,
Hospital Administrator.
The authority said in the ad
vertisement that it reserves the
right to reject any or all bids.
Mr. Mullins
Dies Tuesday
Mr. Charles Wheeler Mullins,
65, of 1001 West Solomon street,
suffered a stroke and died a
short time later after being ad
mitted to the Griffin-Spalding
Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Mullins was a lifelong re
sident of Griffin, son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. William Mullins.
Until he retired he was employ
ed at the Thomaston Mills, Grif
fin Division. Mr. Mullins was a
member of the Baptist Taber
nacle Church.
He is survived by three sons,
Bill Mullins and Bob Mullins,
both of Griffin, and Johnny Mul
lins of Anaheim, Calif.; two
brothers, J. C. Mullins and Syl
vester Mullins of Decatur.
Funeral services will be con
ducted Thursday afternoon at 2
o’clock in Haisten’s chapel with
the Rev. Alfred L. Key offic
iating. Burial will be ln O a k
Hill cemetery. Mr. Mullins’ body
is at Haisten Funeral Home.
