The Eagles, who Jumped on
Decatur for nine runs in the fir
st inning Tuesday, got to Rus
sell for two runs in the first.
The two-run uprising came in
lightning — like fashion.
After Frank Hinson doubled,
Pitts drilled a home run to right
field.
Griffin scored three times in
the third.
Hinson, who was safe on a
fielder’s choice, stole second and
scored on Fitts’ single.
Dan McLean lined a shot over
the left field wall for a two-run
homer.
Griffin picked up its final run
in the sixth on a wild pitch.
Russell scored twice in the fif
th without the benefit of a hit.
Three Griffin errors contributed
the runs.
Waller went the distance for
the Eagles. He struckout eight,
walked two and allowed only
tliree hits.
McLean led Griffin’s attack

In Track Meet
The Spalding Junior High
track team placed third In a
meet here Wednesday.
Jonesboro won the meet with
58 points. Forest Park was se

Spalding won only two events.
Kenneth Hand finished first in

George Sanders won the 100.
