gram “New Foreign Mission
Fields” at the April meeting of
DeVotie Baptist Church WMU.
Mrs. W. S. Hardcastl®
gave the devotional, “Parable
of the Wheat and Tares”. Mrs.
W. A. Kilgore, Miss Annie Ab
bott, Mrs. Burel Forrester dis
cussed “Preparing New Mission
Fields”.
Mrs. A. C. Stephens, prayer
chairman, gave the story of the
painter and sculptor, Albrecht
Durer, who painted “Praying
Hands”. Mrs. Floyd Knight has
given the church a sculpture of
“Fraying Hands” to be used for
interest centers and devotionals.
Mrs. L.J. Stemberger led in
prayer for the missionaries who
had birthdays on the date of the
meeting.
Mrs. Charles Carlyle, presi
dent, presided during the busi
ness session. The treasurer’s re
port was given by Mrs. Carl
Evans, treasurer. All standing
committees gave reports.
Mrs. Burel Forrester, GA dir
ector, announced plans for GA
Focus Week May 8-14.
Mrs. Clyle Murphy, mission
study chairman, announced that
a mission study on stewardship
will be taught at the church by
Mrs. S. J. Wheeler, mission stu
dy chairman of Flint River As
sociation, on April 25.
Mrs. Carlyle presented an ad
vanced award that was given
DeVotie WMS at the annual
meeting of Flint River WMU for
work done last year.
The meeting was closed with
prayer.

institution in August. The bride
elect is presently employed by
the Bibb County Board of Edu
cation. Miss Dunagan formerly
taught in the Griffin-Spalding
School System.
Mr. Deal received his bache
lor of arts degree from Mercer
University where he was presi
dent of Alpha Tau Omega fra
ternity, president of the Student
Government, and Colonel of the
R.O.T.C. Mr. Deal is a member
of Blue Key and Who’s Who in
American Colleges and Univer
sities. He will receive his bache
lor of laws degree from Mer
cer University in June. He is a
member of the Georgia Bar As
sociation and Delta Theta Phi
Legal fraternity.
Mr. Deal is employed by the
law firm of Martin, Snow, Gr
ant, and Napier in Macon.
The wedding will be solemniz
ed Jun e 12 at the New Holland
Baptist Church in Gainesville.
