Medalist In Tourney
Robin Wheaton of Griffin was
! low medalist in the 18 and under
' age group in the District Golf
Tournament sponsored by the
Griffin Recreation Department.
Wheaton toured the Griffin
course with 79’s Monday and
Tuesday for a total of 158 for 36
holes.
Steven Holmes of Carrollton
was medalist in the 12 and un
der age group with a 129 for 24
holes and Bill Nelson was low
medalist in the 15 and under gr
oup with a 167 total for 36 holes.
Newnan won the team trophy
in the 12 and under division with
a score of 611. Members of the
team and their scores are:
Charles Barron, 144; Rusty
Kuell, 150; Carter Williams, 152;
and Bill Murphy, 165.
Griffin was »rtmner-up with a
666 team score. Members of the

Low Medalists
Low medalists in the district golf tournament, spon
sored by the Griffin Recreation Department were
(1-r) Robin Wheaton, Griffin, 18 and under; Steve
Holmes, Carrollton, 12 and under; and Bill Nelson,
Jackson, 15 and under. The two-day tournament was
held at the Griffin golf course. Forty-five golfers from
Carrollton, Jackson, Barnesville, Newnan and Griffin
participated.
