Minimum wage rates for this
project have been predetermined
by the Secretary of Labor and
are set forth in the advertised
specifications - bid proposal.
Estimated cost of this project
is approximately $136,061.00. A
contract will not be awarded on
a proposal exceeding the esti
mated cost by 15%.
Said work shall begin within
ten (10) days after Notice to
Proceed has been issued and
shall be completed within the
number of calendar days indi
cated. When contract has been
executed, written notice shall
be given the Contractor, at
which time, and not before, work
may be strated.
Contract executed pursuant to
this Notice is binding on the
State Highway Department, as
such, Said contract will not
create liability, expressed or
implied, against the undersigned
Director of the State Highway
Department, as an individual
nor against any employe of the
State Highway Department, in
his or her individual capacity.
Plans and Specifications may
be inspected at the offices of
the undersigned at Atlanta, and
at the Division Office indicated,
and at the office of the Board
of County Commissioners of
the County in which the work
lies. Copies of the plans may
be obtained upon payment in
advance of the sum indicated.
Copies of the Standard Specifi
cations may be obtained upon
payment in advance of the sum
of $4.00 which sum will not be
refunded.
Proposals must be submitted
on regular forms, which will be
supplied by the undersigned, and
may be obtained by a payment,
in advance, of $5.00 for each pro
posal issued. When the propo
sal is submitted, it must be ac
companied t>y a proposal guar
anty in the form of a certified
check, cashier’s check, negoti
able United States Bonds, or
other acceptable security in the
amount indicated, and must be
plainly marked “Proposal for
Road Construction,” County and
Number, and show the time of
opening as advertised. Check
of the low bidder will be cashed
and all other checks will be re
turned as soon as the contract
is awarded, unless it is deemed
advisable by the State Highway
Department to hold one or more
checks. If any unusual condi
tion arises, the State Highway
Department reserves the right
to cash all checks. Bidders Bond
will not be accepted. Bond will
be required of the successful
bidder as required by law.
Contracts will not be awarded
to contractors who have not
been placed in the list of quali
fied Contractors prior to the

date of award. No proposal will
be issued to any bidder later
than 9 A.M. Eastern Daylight
Time of the date of opening
bids
All bids must show totals for
each item and total amount of
bid. Right is reserved in the
undersigned to delay the award
of the contract for a period not
to exceed thirty (30) days from
the date of opening bids, during
which period bids shall remain
open and not subject to with
drawal. Right is also reserved
in the undersigned to reject
any and all bids and to waive
all formalities.
Upon compliance with the re
quirements of the Standard Sp
ecifications, payment for work
done shall be made in accord
ance with the provisions of the
Standard Specifications.
On projects involving Federal
Funds the minimum wages to
be paid shall be the amounts
set out in the Labor Provisions
included in the Proposal. The
attention of bidders is directed
to the Special Provisions cover
ing employment of labor, meth
ods of constructions, and sub
letting or assigning the contract.
On such projects, the State
Highway Department, in accord
ance with the provision of Title
VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964 (78 Stat .252) and the Re
gulations of the Department of
Commerce (15 C.F.R., Part 8),
issued pursuant to such Act,
hereby notifies all bidders that
it will affirmatively Insure that
the contract entered into pur
suant to this advertisement will
be awarded to the lowest re
sponsible bidder without discri
mination on the ground of race,
color, or national origin.
In contracts involving State
funds only, House of Represen
tatives Resolution No. 34, re
quiring use of domestic mater
ials, will be incorporated.

the date of opening bids, during
which period bids shall remain
open and not subject to with
drawal. Right is also reserved
in the undersigned to reject any
and all bids and to waive all
formalities.
Upon compliance with the
requirements of the Standard
Specifications, payment for work
done shall be made in accord
ance with the provisions of the
Standard Specifications.
On projects involving Federal
Funds the minimum wages to
be paid shall be the amounts
set out in the Labor Provisions
included in the Proposal. The
attention of bidders is directed
to the Special Provisions cover
ing employment of labor, meth
ods of construction, and sub
letting or assigning the contract.
On such projects, the State
Highway Department, in accord
ance with the provision of Title
VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964 (78 Stat. .252) and the
Regulations of the Department
of Commerce (15 C F.R., Part
8), issued pursuant to such Act,
hereby notifies all bidders that
it will affirmatively insure that
the contract entered into pur
suant to this advertisement will
be awarded to the lowest res
ponsible bidder without discri
mination on the ground of race,
color, or national origin.
In contracts involving State
funds only, House of Represen
tatives Resolution No. 34, re
quiring use of domestic mate
rials, will be incorporated.
