closer to the Region 3-B cham

cking West Point 62-58 to move
into the semi-finals.
The Pirates fell behind 8-11 in
the first quarter but roared back
to take a substantial lead in the
second and third.
Coach Walker Cook’s eagers
carried a 44-34 lead Into the four

Pike almost blew the lead
when top rebounder Wayne

points of the lead.
Pike plays Westside of Rome
Thursday night. A victory would
put the Zebulon based team in
the state tournament.
However, Pike will have its
work cut out in the semi-finals.
Westside is the defending Class
B champs.
