1967 must file application for homestead exemption
by April Ist in order to qualify for Homestead Ex
emption under the Georgia Homestead Exemption

Ricky Clark was the most ex
citing runner. He ripped off long
yardage with bull-llke-arms. His
TD came on a great dash up the
middle.
Robison's passing and Baker’s
catching kept the White team In
the game.
The aerial duo ate up the
Green defensive backs with pass
after pass.
The two lines were about even,
offensively and defensively.

Girls’ high school basketball
finals are on tap in three Geor
gia tournements tonight, two of
them in Macon.
In Atlanta, Dodge County of
Eastman meets Northside of
Warner Robins for the Class AA
championship, a rematch of the
1967 finals won by Northside.
Dodge tripped Franklin County
46-40 and Northside downed Cof
fee County 57-41 in Friday
night’s semifinals.
j Taylor County goes up against
Harris County in Macon for the
Class B championship. Taylor
downed Telfair County 61-37
and Harris beat Glennville 52.47
in Friday games.
4 In Class C action at Macon,
It will be Duluth versus Doerun
for the championship. Duluth
eliminated Toombs Central 52-
49 Friday night, while Doerun

DETROIT (UPD — Bob Bea
mon, a veteran performer in
the long jump, wasn’t thinking
about setting a world record.
Larry James, a novice runner
in the 440, was thinking about
one.
But the result was the same
Friday night as both set world
indoor marks in the kickoff of
the NCAA national indoor track
meet.
“I only felt like about 24-11
or 25 feet before the meet,”
said Beamon, the sophomore at
the University of Texas at El
Paso who soared 27 feet, 2%
inches to set a new world in
door mark. The distance broke
his own mark by 1% Inches.
Beamon also became the
meet’s only double winner in
history when he won the inaug
ural triple jump with a mark of
52 feet, 3>/2 Inches.

season I've run the 440,” said
James, a Villanova sophomore,

of my feet,” said Ryun, who
originally injured his left heel
three weeks ago.

en. But the Trojans’ top events
are set for today —the pole
vault, 60-yard dash and the 60-
yard hurdles.
