Thanksgiving Day Is a big din
ner, relatives — either they’re
visiting you or you are visiting
them — getting all the family to
gether again, football, just sit
ting back and relaxing. Is that
not a typical American Hianks
glvlng Day?
Or Is It? Maybe your Thanks
giving Day will be spent alone,
In a cold house. Maybe your fe
ast will be only those sandwich
es you make yourself. Or may
be Thanksgiving Day will hard
ly be different from the other
364. Perhaps the holiday will be
for you merely another day to
work, another day to fall out of
bed early in the morning. What
then?
No matter how you spend your
Thanksgiving holidays. It might
be a good idea to devote some
thought to your circumstances
and surroundings. You live In a
country that, while not the best
of all possible societies, is one
of the best in existence — one of
the best places for an individual
man, woman or child to live.
Here you have better opportun
ities for advancement than you
would have anywhere else in the
world.
Best of all, you exist. You see
the falling and the fallen leaves.
You hear the mournful creak
ing of the trees outside as they
reach for sun or stars. You are
stung by the cold, bracing wind.
There is life all around. You
are part of it. Breathe! Realize
that breath. Is there a better
way to celebrate Thanksgiving?

GOES TO HIGH COURT
WASHINGTON (UP I) —:
Joseph A. F. Valenti, assistant |
dean of St. John Fisher College
in Rochester, N.Y., Monday :
brought to the Supreme Court
his fight to force an election I

Former Rep. Charles E.
