HOME HINTS
Few hairdressers recommend
ed shampooing with turpentine
or mineral spirits — even after
you paint a ceiling. The Na
tional Paint, Varnish and Lac
quer Association suggests you
take a tip from the pro’s and
always don a protective hat to
top off your painting wardrobe.
Plastic shower caps are idea for
such use since they completely
cover your hair and are so easy
to clean.
To make whipped cream that
holds its shape for an hour or
two, use chilled cream, bowl and
beaters. Also, add three tab
lespoons of unsifted powdered
sugar and one-half teaspoon of
vanilla to one-half pint of cream.
Whip until stiff enough to hold
its shape when beater is lifted.
Miss Betty Jane Brown
Harris College and is now at
tending Georgia State College.
She is presently employed by the
State Merit System.
Mr. Hyder is tne grandson of
Mr. Shelley Garfield Wright of
Griffin and the late Mrs. Wright
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Frank Hyder of Lula, Oa.
He is employed by Eastern Air
lines and attends DeKalb Junior
College.
The wedding will be held at
Ben Hill Methodist Church in At
lanta on May 17.

Each time new furnishings are

Fashion Tips
The fitted jacket over a simple
A-flared dress typifies today’s
classicism in clothes. The whole
effect is brightened by an un
common pin — say steed-shaped
or dog-shaped, a companion bra
celet, necklace and earrings.
The wrapped suit, one of the
season’s newest shapes, includ
es a long jacket sashed and
banded low over a matching
skirt. Monet suggests a mix of
delicate and bold chains swing
ing a petite drop and a crested
pendant to accent this look. Mat
ching earrings and bracelet are
added for a total look of elegant
accessorizing.
