Dampened Bath Towels
Remove Wrinkles in Rug
By POLLY CRAMER
w 5
DEAR POLLY—Perhaps Susan could get the wrinkles out
of her nylon rug in the following manner: First, place plas
tic or linoleum on the floor under the wrinkled part, place
some damp heavy bath towels on the wrinkles and leave
for a few hours or overnight. Remove the towels but leave
the protective covering under the rug until it is thoroughly
dry. Rugs should never be folded but always rolled.—p. G.

DEAR POLLY—I wish some reader would tell me
how to keep bittersweet without having the berries
fall off. What time of year is the best for cutting it?
I can never get the berries to open up as I have seen
them do.-MRS. R. W.
DEAR POLLY—I keep a folding laundry cart in my
broom closet with my regular cleaning tools and save much
extra walking when clean
ing by loading it with the
smaller tools to be used, a
paper bag into which I emp
ty wastebaskets, ashtrays,
etc. Small out-of-place
things found when “picking
up the house” go into the
cart and stay in it until I
work my way around to the
room where they belong.
One trip around the house
should be enough for daily
cleaning, replacing those countless runs from one room to
another with one or two items to be put away. We often
take so many steps needlessly.—MYßL
